Most of us have heard the sayings “you are what you eat” or “you are what you consume,” but have taken it very lightly when it comes to actually applying it to our own lives.
Just as the law of nature states that for every action there is a reaction and for every effect there is a cause, the same law applies to us human beings and how we treat and nourish our mind, body, and spirit.
What we consume we ultimately become, and what we “input” to our systems will be the “outputs” that we will experience. We tend to get very fixated on our goals in life, but do not pay attention to our daily thoughts, actions, and feelings and how they impact the results that we see.
Just as a person who wants to lose weight or live a healthier lifestyle has to pay attention to their nutritional diet and workout routine, the same applies to every other goal and facet of our lives.
To live an overall healthy and balanced life, you have to become aware of what you eat, drink, read, watch, listen to, and spend your time with. This ultimately determines and establishes the quality of your life and the quality of your experiences.
Now, this does not mean you have to refrain from watching or reading anything entertaining or engaging in tedious activities, it just means that you have to become aware of what it is you are spending your time on and how it can potentially impact the quality of your thoughts, actions, and feelings. Once you become aware of it, you are then making a conscious choice, and when you make a conscious choice you can take responsibility for it.
See, every change, every growth, and every transformation in life starts with awareness, becoming aware of “what is.” Once you become aware of the “what is,” you gain the personal power to re-direct your life in the direction of your choice or at least have better understanding of why you are where you are.
Just as the food we eat impacts our health and level of functioning, so does the information we read, watch, and listen to. See, we all have a subconscious mind that is constantly recording the information that we surround ourselves with.
Once you become aware of your subconscious mind and that it is always recording every moment of every day and storing the information, you start paying attention to the information that you feed it. If you feed your mind with information that is aligned with your values and life goals, you are simply making life easier for yourself and ensuring your own success. What you feed your mind, your body, and your spirit, will directly impact your view of yourself, of others, and your environment.
Remember, you have to think healthy, act healthy, in order to feel healthy. The purpose of becoming aware is for us to realize of how we contribute to our own experiences in life and the level of control we have in creating whatever experiences we desire.
Lets take another example. Someone who wants to be a chemist has to spend their time researching, reading, and studying books and literature related to chemistry. The same applies to any person who wants to be an expert in any other field. They have to spend time reading and listening to material that expands their knowledge and increases their mental capacity.
Now, to live a fulfilling life where you can maximize your human potential you have to pay attention to the content that you input to your mind, body, and spirit, and connect it to the results that your are experiencing in your every day life.
If there is an area in your life that you are not satisfied with, then it is time to break down and examine your own process, identify the problem or problems, and reprogram to become your most optimal self. And remember, to make lasting change requires conscious effort.
Here is some inspirational food for thought…
“Our lives are but mirrored reflections of who we are within. We are constantly assimilating information and transforming that information into the best versions of ourselves. “ ~ Joe Lorenzana
